I am installing a DVD/CD player in my 1996 Saturn SL2, and there is a pink wire coming from the player that says parking brake line, and the DVD portion of the player does not work because I don't have the line connected.
The problem is that the instructions say to "Connect the Parking Brake line to the parking brake system built in the car", and I don't know how to do this. Will it be part of the car, or will it be part of the wiring harness?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Remove the center console and connect the pink wire to the wire coming off the parking brake assembly. Or depending on the make and model of your DVD player, you can be like 90% of the rest of us and just ground the pink wire to the frame.

attach the pink wire to your ground and you will be able to drive down the street and watch dvds at the same time.

There are very few in dash DVD players these days where it is that easy.

depending on the brand, there is usually some kind of code to override it. i tried grounding mine and it fried the wire, but fortunately i found out how to override the factory head unit settings.
