1998 sc1 1.9L engine swap 1999 sl1 1.9L
I Have a 1998 sc1 1.9L Manual Transmission, and I have a 1999 sl1 1.9L Automatic Transmission donor car, my Question is will the engine block of a 1999 1.9L automatic fit the 1998 Manual transmission. Are the automatic blocks and Cranks the same as the Manual Transmission blocks and crank.
The Main reason for the engine sway is that my 1998 engine is using oil, about a Qt every 2000 miles not leaking and at first no smoking, been doing that since I bought it new and the dealer said that was normal.
My Girlfriend got a 98 sc1 automatic and it doesn't use oil or uses very little. That makes me believe I have a problem.
Secondly and recently,
I am having an issue with the 1998 engine, starts fine in the morning but if you stop for a short trip and when you go to restart the car it is hard to start, you have to hit the accelerator pedal several times and hold it to the floor and turn the key and hold it for a few revolutions, once it starts it blows a bit of white smoke, smells funny and runs a little rough for a few seconds before idling back to normal, my temp gauge does not register correct almost always cold, I have heard that an engine temp sensor can cause this, Any thoughts.

Please take some time and add your first name, location and cars to your signature. Don't forget to fill out your profile. You will find your signature in User CP top left on most pages. Once a memeber reaches 50 post he/she can send a picture to sw2cam and he'll resize and set up your AVATAR.
What do you see when you open General Tech Help? Take the time to read the heading.
I bet you'll find the word STICKY near the subject ETCS and it's CONNNECTOR. The mods have made a number of FAQ sticky's. We help those that help themselves, sw2cam bans the rest
