Left headlights on and that drained the battery. Tried to jumpstart with no avail. Had the battery charged and tested, which came out to be fine. Removed the starter and had that also tested. Also tested fine. Now I'm thinking its the Neutral Safety Switch. Is there any indication thats the sure route or does anyone have any simpler solutions to why it won't start?

Easy way to test the NSS:





Need: A Digital Volt/Ohm Meter (can be purchased at Autozone cheaply)
1. Check resistance through switch from pin A to pin B
2. Circuit should be open when transaxle shifter is in R, 3, or 2 (Meter might read O.L meaning there is no connection between pins A and B)
3. Resistance should be less than 2 ohms when shifter is in P or N (with a resistance shown, it means there is a connection between A and B (good switch)
If it shows more then 2 or OL (open circuit) replace switch

Could it be your alternator???

 

Well, we checked that (had it tested at Auto Zone, and it passed.) and found out the problem in the process. There is a yellow wire in the main cluster going from the ignition to the fusebox, then out from there as a purple wire, then to the starter. Just ran some new wire, spliced it into the yellow, and it now starts fine. Go figure...[img]smileys/smiley8.gif[/img]
