was wondering if any one can tell me how to turn down the idle. my car idles at about 1200 rpm's. and also when i put it in park the tach jumps from 500 rpm's to 2000 rpm's back and forth. also i would like to thank the people for the responses on my other problem. they were very helpful!!!

You've got bad ECTS and/or the EGR and the throttle bodyneed to cleaned. The PCM controls the idle, no way to adjust it.

SL1's 1994 and down are NOT fuel injected. if you look at these cars you'll see that http://www.cardomain.com/ride/273422is a 1995has a metal intake and the1994, http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2135185/2,has a plasticintake the 1995 is fuel injected and the 1994 has a throttle body. you can tellthe difference by what the intake is made of.but I obviously dont know saturns...Edited by: Collins

I wouldn't believed it, if I hadn't seen it. Autozone list a Holley carburetor for the 94'. I didn't think anybody was making a carburetor fuel system after 85'. Now that I know, I'll have to keep my eye out for one. I prefer the old system, less crap to go wrong.

Back to Tommy's problem. Undoubtedly he got fuel injection, because of the symptoms he is describing are common to FI system failures.

I don't care what "autozone" lists for parts on a Saturn. They are all fuel injected. If you think autozone is right (they rarely are) call your local Saturn Dealer and ask them. Then you can also get what you need to clean the throttle body butterfly and shaft to fix your high idle.

Carburator, thats to funny
