I had a remote starter installed in my 2001 L200 a couple years ago, and they had to install a relay to bypass part of the theft protection system.* Apparently if there is a feature that will disable the fuel pump for 20 minutes if someone attempts to start the car without the key. This is a great feature if someone is trying to steal your car, but not so good if you are trying to remotely start the car.* The remote starter installer installed a relay to bypass this feature, but this relay keeps failing.* I have taken the car back twice to have the relay replaced, but it still sometimes doesn't work, and when I try to use the remote starter, the car may start, or it may not in which case I have to sit and wait for 20 minutes to try it with the key.I don't know if the installer was using junk parts, or what, but I am trying to find where on the car this relay would be so that I can replace it with a different (hopefully higher quality) relay.Does anyone have any suggestions on where to look?* I know aftermarket kits could be just about anywhere, but there are probably a couple of common places to locate everything.
