Time came for new tires, and I always told myself if it came that time I wanted to put the 15" rims on that this car would have originally had.
Found a junkyard with an SC that, at least when they took it in, had its' wheels on it. Getting there, though, they still there but in pretty bad shape. Walking around I found an SL that still had its' 15" rims, and in decent shape. Grabbed those

Not what I wanted, but not bad. Better than the 14" painted steelies- I plan on putting winter tires on those.
Yes, the rear tire was low when I took this picture.

Unrelated to wheels and tires, but I also painted the hood flat black. Better than the gold that it had been half-*** spray bombed.

 

How did you paint the hood?

 

Spray bombed. It was spray bombed when I got it, this gold color that PO probably thought would be a kinda-sorta match. Over the years it wore away, and the paint strokes were noticeable.
I used some old boxes and moving blankets to cover the windshield/cowl and fenders, and went to town.
Rust-Oleum flat black, finished with Krylon flat black because I ran out of Rust-Oleum. Found out that Krylon is a little lighter, fortunately I had enough to even it out.

 

I like those wheels. I think they look just fine on your car.
