need some cheap, but good tires

my Saturn needs tires bad, but on a budget. maybe spend $60-$80 per tire. i think they are P185/65R1. just a daily driver, live in Florida so no snow, but it does rain a lot.what are some good brands that you have had experience with?

General has a good 40,000 mile tire. The price installed, balanced and disposal fee from my local Midas shop was $84 per tire. That was for 215-55-16's. Should be cheaper for your size.

I second the generals, I got the General Altimax HPs on my car and they run quite nice in the rain. (diff size of course)
they're $71 a tire on tirerack for the stock size.

(lol just realized this thread is like a week old and probably answered)

I have had good luck with Goodyear VivaII's. I put the last set on my now deceased Dodge Caliber and had great service out of them. I also have a set on my 99 Dodge Grand Caravan. I caught them on sale for $65.00 each when I got them back in mid summer of 09. Oh, got them at Walmart.

I like Hankooks, but they are about $100.00 or so a piece. If all you are looking for is round and black, I really don't think the brand makes a whole lot of difference. I have cheap goodyears on the back of my coupe with Hankooks on the front. The car drives out nice. I have Hankooks on a couple of my other cars. I like them on my T&C.
My cheap Goodyears are holding up the back of the car and don't go flat but are getting weathered by the exposure to the sun and the UV.

Depends on how long you think you'll have the car. Depends on how long the car will be on the road. In other words I'd not buy 60,000 mile tires for a car I'll only have for 40,000 miles.

A GOOD CHEAP tire is a Dayton Daytona. Sold a crap load of those tires and people were happy with them here in Arizona.

Hankooks: I think of our 4 ION's three came with Hankooks. Drive out fine, go down the road quiet, tread life is good. Sidewalls opened up like sometook a knife to them. Happen to 9 of the 12 Hankooks take came on the ION's. Yet I bought a set of Hankook 17's when I bought new wheels awhile back, maybe I'll have to say stupid me.....we'll see.
