Struts...grrr

I think mine are wore out. Was wondering where I could pick up some not-so-worn out, possibly new struts without dealership prices. Reason Im asking, is...I get a lot of noise when I hit bumps, originally thought it was axles, but if I push and pull on motor, i get clicking noises from the strut towers.

I see on ebay for all front and rear for over $200....outta my price range.

Advance Auto Parts usually carries Monroe struts for about $50 apiece. That's just a ball park figure. You could always call your local store and see if they have them and how much.

well had people in my car tonight and each bump i hit, everyone heard and felt the noise. My sister who was sitting in back, said the thump was coming from the rear....so what should i check in the rear that is either broke or worn out...or have i already found the solution?

Most likely culprit is a bad strut/shock but it's possible that it's the track bar. Doesn't happen too often, but I have seen a broken one or two over the years. Of course, this was on Mopar K cars, not Saturns. Get your ass under the car and have someone bounce it and observe the struts and related suspension parts.

Got in car today during break and thought it was going to tip over...

Im only 140 lbs, but the car sure was doing some rocking.

It sure sounds like you've got something broken. Sounds like a completely broken spring or possibly a strut mount to me. I wouldn't drive that car until it was fixed if it were me. Your life is worth a lot more than the car.

Ill do it this weekend. I only have one or two mile drive to work and its in town driving, so im not going faster then 40 mph. Something happens, I can hold it steady.

Heck, I wouldn't chance it. I'd either walk or ride my bicycle if I lived that close. I used to ride my bicycle to work when I worked for Autozone back in 94 and lived 2 miles away. Saved a lot of money on gas.
