Unhappy Wet Floors: Am I Beyond Hope?

Hey y'all. I've been driving my 2004 Vue V6 (without the sunroof) since 2019 and normally she doesn't give me any hassle but I've recently run into a problem: my driver side and passenger side floor (below the mats) is sopping wet. I used to live in the interior which is intensely dry for most of the year, so I've never had to deal with this sort of issue, but since moving to the coast I've run into this problem only within the last few months - which just escalated within the last week. I don't think the driver's side or passenger side wetness are from the same cause though.

Problem 1 - Driver's side:
Along the floor near the door frame is wet but not puddle wet - I think it may be the door seal, because this happens when it rains, so I'm going to Vaseline the **** out of all the door seals to see if that softens them up and makes them more flush against the door.

Problem 2 - Passenger Side/Driving Console:
Literally a lake when I got into the car today (after not having driven for a few days but it HAS been raining heavily. I'm going to unbolt the paneling and pull the carpet up to get a better look - but when I pulled off the driving console cover panel which hides the electrical switches (which were thankfully dry), I was able to shove my hand down inside far enough to feel the floor through the opening and there's a considerable amount of water puddling down there. Couldn't take a better look because I had to head off to work, but I was able to shove a couple towels down to try and sop it up. I'm hoping the rain stops sooner that predicted so that I can pull everything out before it gets worse.

I think what I'm overall asking is if anyone has any suggestions on what may be causing this? I'm going to check the drains around the windshield when I get out of work to see if they're blocked, but I'm honestly open to anything. Thank y'all in advance.

Does your Vue have a sunroof? When I got my Ion I had the same problem. After checking everything else, determined the sunroof drains had come disconnected where the drain goes through the outer area behind the front tire. (With the drain disconnected there, all the water comes out by the kick panel and dumps into the carpet.) The drains can also come disconnected from the sunroof frame. It was a tedious job to reconnect and bond the drains at the bottom requiring unnatural contortions of my hand and wrist. There are some YouTube videos for Ions, and possible for Vues too. But the setup seems to be pretty much the same. See this link: 2006 Vue sunroof drains

Nope, not a sunroof model. I'm thinking that it may be that the HVAC condensation drain is plugged up, but I'll have to take a look underneath it.

HVAC condensation drain plugged for the console pass side if you drive w the AC on slot

With a friend, do the old fashioned hose test..
Just be sure to simulate rain falling more or less straight down. If you blast anything straight on from the side that is that old, it will probably leak, thus confusing the issue. You can run water from the top of the door frame towards the front of the car and see if that leaks. Also pay attention to the cowl at the base of the windshield. There are drain holes for draining the area when it rains. They usually get clocked up with leaves and other debris. Once that happens, the water might be getting in between the windshield and the firewall, running down, and finding the nearest hole.

Check the cowl drains under the wipers. If you live somewhere that there are pine and other such trees and you frequently see a lot of that crap around your wipers, odds are pretty good that the cowl drains are clogged. Clean them out and see if it improves. I don't much see a clogged a/c drain tube causing a flood in your vehicle that's been sitting for a few days. If it's not running, then the a/c system isn't producing condensation. I don't know where your cowl drains are exactly as I've never even looked under the hood of a Vue, but someone here should be able to tell you or you can just google it.
