Vehicle locks itself - 08 VUE XR
 

After leaving my vehicle for a few minutes without locking it ( 5mins or longer), it locks itself and peeps. Even after I unlock the car, after leaving it, it locks itself again a few minutes later.. But after locking the car and setting the alarm, it remains locked. I have another car that has the proximity locking system and that is normal for it to lock itself.
My car does have the remote starting as well as the locking/unlocking tabs on the key fob.
Just wondering does anyone's vue do this? Just puzzled.

Don't remember that vehicle having a smart fob. Had a transponder key and a separate remote.

If you have a remote that came with the remote start along with the other buttons, it's possible that it is also wired into the door lock circuit as a security feature.

I'm going to guess it's aftermarket, yes?

Yes, it is not the original key fob. I guess both of those were lost and when I purchased the car a couple of months ago it came with one key fob and a key to open the doors and another key to start the engine. That must be what is going on. Never thought of this. Thanks again for your help.
