Ticking while motor running

I have an 07 Saturn Vue 2.2l ecotec I4 auto. I just noticed today when i start the car i hear what seems like an electrical clicking/ticking under the hood. I opened er up and i can't really tell what it is. It kinda sounds like injectors but it's kinda loud for injectors. I dunno is this normal or does anyone know what the heck it is? Im used to olds cars and I've never had this before. There's absolutely no codes. It doesn't sound like a knock or a bad pulley or anything like that. It doesn't even sounds to me like anything bad that I've ever heard but again I'm used to classics... Any comments appreciated. Thanks in advance! I'll try to get a recording of it up for you guys.

Please do a video where you move from the side of the car slowly around to the front to the other side keeping the camera a consistent distance away from the engine. If you know what is coming from a particular spot, then moving closer to that spot will help.

I'm kinda starting tio think its timing chain related. Maybe a timing chain tensioner.. I dunno

Sounds like a time bomb to me. You better get someone to look inside before it comes apart and bends all the valves.

The more i research it the more i think the timing chain is hitting the guide on the top of the chain. What's your guys thoughts?

See 02 LW300;s post above !!!!

If nothing else, if you feel comfortable replacing a valve cover gasket, remove the valve cover gasket and visually examine the chain and chain guide. If it is hitting there you should see the wear, indicating the chain is probably stretched or the tensioner is not functioning properly

That's my plan. I'm short on funds and it doesn't sound too bad so when i get to it yeah thats what I'll do. Thanks man
