stutter while driving
Hello,
I have an 09 saturn vue XR with the 3.6L. I have been having an issue while driving where the car will intermittently briefly lose power. it feels like a shift but its not shifting. At first I thought this was the plugs and coils so i changed it out with no change. Next I changed out the throttle body due to it feeling like there was an issue with the potentiometer. this fixed it for about 2 weeks and now it is back. There are no check engine lights. any help would be greatly appreciated

It seems like it happens in 3rd gear right around 35 mph. My wife said it feels like it does it most when she lets off the gas. There is no check engine light. Also, the rpm dont really do anything when it happens

I'm confused. How can you say it is losing power if it is occurring when her foot is removed from the accelerator? I understand whatever jerking phenomenon is occurring maybe happening at that time but if you take your foot off the gas, by definition the engine has less power output.
Try driving the vehicle in sport mode. Put the vehicle in drive, then slide the shifter to the right. It should say on the dash it is either in neutral or first
As you pull away from a stop you're in first gear. Tap the shifter forward towards the windshield to shift up 1 gear. Tap the shifter towards the back seat 2 shift down one gear once you have gotten moving. You can run pretty high in the RPMs before the system takes over and shifts in order to prevent damage.
When when you take your foot off the gas in any gear, in sport tapshift mode ,
if you are at 2 to 3000 RPM, the vehicle will not shift from the gear it is in on flat road. See if you can shift up through the gears from a stop smoothly. I believe the shift points are around 2300 RPM but I don't remember from when I owned a 2008 Vue XR with the same engine.
My point in suggesting this it's to see what happens around 35 Mph as you will probably find yourself into different gears at that speed while driving around. Let us know what happens.
