Hi, all. We just bought a low km (119000) well-cared for 2005 Vue, V-6 2wd. It ran just fine through the mountains from Vancouver to home. It has a few minor rattles and an occasional low-speed "brrrrup" sound from rt. front when turning left. Any comments will be appreciated. Main question is where to source a reasonably-priced FSM, preferably a downloadable .pdf or equiv. I am a firm believer in the FSM after many years of amateur wrenching.

I did do a search, but a genuine FSM appears to be a pricey item ($100+). Guess it'll be a Haynes or Chilton for the time being.

Also, a quick look under the driver's dash did not reveal the a.l.d.l scanner port. Is it concealed?

You're welcome, derf. But I still can't see the a.l.d.l., or OBDII scanner port, which should be in the vicinity of the driver's right knee. Could it be tucked under the underdash trim? (I do have an Autel OBDII basic scanner)

Just did a fuel economy check. On our hilly 2-lane highways (familiar to folks living in the Cascades) we got 30 U.S. mpg, or more accurately we burned fuel at a rate of 7.8 liters/100km. I personally think that's pretty good for any 250 h.p. S.U.V.
And I'm still looking for that OBD connector port. Someone must know where it's hiding?

I've seen some connector ports that will have a cover on them if they've never been accessed. Check for a black plastic cover about two to three inches long by about three quarters of an inch wide under the dash. They're usually somewhere near the steering column or kick panel. Drivers side kick panel to be clear.
