Manual Tranny Shifiting problems
I have a 2003 Saturn Vue 2.2L Manual Tranny. Back in November I replaced the Clutch Master Cylinder, Slave throwout bearing, Pressure plate, clutch plate and flywheel. Bled the system and all was well. The other day I went to shift after engine start and it will not go into gear. When not running, it will go into all gears. The clutch pedal felt very spongy. I got another master cylinder and bled it until no bubbles. Now, when you press the clutch it moves very little and is hard as a rock. I had someone press on the clutch and I opened the bleed valve and it went to the floor. So, now I am wondering is it the slave? Is it the check/bleeder valve that connects to the bell housing? I had someone else push so hard on the pedal it broke the plunger. I have one out of the old one.
Any ides where to go from here?

How long between 'Bled the system and all was well' and the current problem.
Why would you not replace that slave, which is the most prone to fail, while you were in there doing just about everything else?

We bled it back in November after replacing everything. The "all is well" is up to today. I did not replace the slave yesterday as the transmission has to be dropped. I would much rather replace the master first. So are you implying it is the slave?
