Loss of power to ignition/accessories
2003 Saturn Vue Ecotec 2.2L L4 (4 cyl)
Tried to turn engine over, with no response from car. (like I had not even put the key in). Key turns, but there is a loss of connection somewhere. Changed ignition cylinder (been meaning to do that for a while anyhow), and ignition switch. Car still refuses to start. Any suggestions would be appreciated..... |
You may want to check your battery connections and the condition of the battery.

+1 bone dead is often battery
and it's 7 years so orig battery may have gone south (if the orig was a 7 year that is...) |
Battery works fine. I'm still able to turn headlights/interior lights on. Anything associated with the ignition ie; radio, power windows, starting.. wont work.
I have also checked fuses. Any idea if the ignition assembly (part that holds the switch/cylinder/and steering column lock all together) has an electronic security to it that I'm missing? |
I'm sure you have checked the 30amp IGN fuse located in the engine compartment fuse box, and also checked to confirm the presence of +12 volts on the heavy RED wire coming from that fuse to the ignition switch ............
