gurgling from the gas tank

2008 Vue XR, I have a gurgling coming from the gas tank. I had posted about this before and it was suggested that could be the fuel pump. I replaced the fuel pump this weekend, and I am still getting that gurgling from the tank. It sounds like air being blown into the gas. Any other thoughts? Thanks

Don't remember the details.

Is this only when filling up? Does it happen when vehicle is running?

It happens when the car is running. I heard it, and I opened the gas tank while it was running to verify what I thought I heard. I also noticed yesterday, that after you shut it off, there is a small "popping" sound coming from somewhere in the back end. I do not know if this is related to the gurgling or not.

Any service engine light codes?

Do you add more gas to the tank after pump clicks off?

I got a code P496 Evaporative Emmision system high purge flow.

as far as the gas... I don't. Once it clicks, I am done.

Once you are driving, the gasoline vapors in the fuel tank begin to build up pressure.

Every so often, a switch is commanded to "purge" the fuel system of this accumulated pressure. An EVAP purge solenoid opens a valve that releases these vapors back into the intake of the engine and they are burned.

What does high flow indicate?
I'll be back

P0496 EVAP Flow During A Non-Purge Condition -

So something is causing it to purge when it should not be doing so. I believe the fuel tank pressure sensor keeps the PCM informed of the fuel tank pressure, and then the PCM or BCM commands the purge valve open. That is normal cycle of events.

If this pirgy.valve.ks leaking when it is supposed to be closed, you will indeed have purging going on during the intervals when it should not be occurring.

Or it could.be a loose hose in the purge portion the EVAP system.
