Anyone ever seen this or if it is fixable?
I have a 2005 Saturn Vue with 57000 miles on the V6. Recently when I sent it to my garage for repair they discovered these significant rust out areas which in their opinion make it 'unsafe' to drive. The one on the drivers side has literally almost disintegrated the lower shock absorber support, & the passenger side is almost as bad. They suggested that I take it to a 'body shop' to see if they could repair it, which I might have to do unless some of you have some needed insights, suggestions, experiences with this kind of thing.

Common rust spot on the vue. It'll need to be cut out and repaired.
you must live up north. Other option would be to find a southern shell with a blown engine and swap yours into |
Thank you 'DropDead'! I think we will most likely just sell it 'as is', as it is also most likely in need of a 'rear main seal' replacement.
Not sure how to price it though, any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you again!!! |
I live on Texas. That'd be a $500 car around me due to the rust and rear main. Someone would use it as a demolition derby car.
not sure for up there. Probably same ball park though |
Are there any 'other' likely rust areas that I haven't already discovered, or that I should look into if I decide to keep it?

Thats the most common. Battery tray. And I think something with the rear suspension if I remember right
