Default 2008 Vue Is transmission damaged

Hello all. New member seeking information. 2008 Vue. Shop replaced radiator. Upon first drive afterwards, car became sluggish and finally just stopped altogether. Engine ran fine. Opened hood and appears transmission fluid all over radiator on drivers side. I think trans cooler line leaked. Will take back to shop Monday and update everyone. I am wondering if transmission was destroyed by this? Anyone have this happen to them?

Sounds like someone did not securely reattach trans cooler line. Could be damaged fitting, could be incompatible radiator.

Also sounds like they didn't test drive, as I would think this would have occurred then.

Take some good detailed pictures before they work on it again.

I bought car last month with trans cooler line leak. Pin hole. Trans shifted fine.
I thought it was trans line end where there is oring fitting but turns out line had hole. Was 2 qts low. I ended up doing drain fill. Yes, running a trans low can cause long term issues.

Does it work properly after the drain and fill?

Default All good

Towed it back to shop that did the work. They picked up the tow bill. Turns out transmission line fitting to radiator was defective. Fixed that refilled trans and works great.
Meant all good.

Just document everything to a T regarding the experience in case you have problems going forward.

It's nice to hear that you have a shop that actually stands behind their work. That's rare nowadays.
