2008-2010 VUE seat relocation-move it back?
 

I had a 2004 VUE and I just got a great deal on a 2008 VUE fully loaded with only 57k miles. It's perfect except for one thing. I've found the seat just doesn't go back far enough. My 04 VUE had a seat that would go back so far that I didn't even use the last two positions. The 08 VUE on the other hand, has me in this really weird position where due to my height, the center console hits my calf and it's causing me leg pain on longer rides. I need to move the seat back 2-3", has anyone ever done this, it seems like it might go well or be a total nightmare. I tried moving the seat from the lowest height to the highest to see if my leg gets more room to stretch out, however the stupid seat goes forward as it goes higher, so it actually decreases leg room. Any advice or tips?

Hate to say it, but I think you will have to do some serious research on motor locations, wiring harness lengths (not that you couldn't splice in additional wire), and most importantly, what if anything is 2 to 3 inches behind or under every mounting bolt on the seat rails.

I had a 2008 Vue. Wife's ride. Could never get comfortable in it. I usually ended up with the seat set at its lowest, the steering wheel adjusted all the way down, the entire seat tilted up enough so that my thighs got some good support, then adjusted the seat back angle to make the steering wheel distance comfortable. Always did it in this order,

I know this doesn't move your hips back any further but it does stretch out your legs a bit to reach the pedals.

I never relocated a seat on a SATURN. I can't see it being a nightmare...Drill holes, make sure you make good strong mounts, extend wires if needed.
