I drove about two miles to the gas station, temperature gauge went to half way mark immediately, got to the gas station and turned the car off, went inside, came out, upon starting, the temperature gauge went to over the halfway mark to the next line, but, then quickly went back to the half way mark, I got back home, parked, shut off the vehicle, and the fan continued to run, I thought I had not shut it off so I went to turn my key and nothing, would not start, I tried this several times, however would not start. the fan continued to run for about five minutes, but still vehicle would not start, I dont have a lot of money, so is there any suggestions as to something I can do to find the problem.

What is the level of coolant in the reservoir?

So we have a crank but no start?
