08' VUE XE 2.4L - Realistic Lifespan?

Howdy all, I got my VUE two years ago and its coming up on 146,000 miles.

I get regular oil change maintenance on it and so far the most expensive thing I've had to do is replace the struts. The only other thing I've had replaced is the spark plug which is nothing. All in all it's been a very easy car.

But, I've seen online that the VUE is only suppose to last ~150,000 miles, which seems really low.

What's everyone's experience on lifespan without having to replace the engine/transmission? I'm really hoping the 150,000 is a fluke and they last longer.

General answer is it should last as long as you properly maintain it, within reason.

If you've been getting the transmission fluid drained and filled every 36,000, changing the coolant at I don't know 80 to 100 k, being religious about changing the oil and topping it off if it drops between oil changes, you should be rewarded with good longevity.

I always hear 150k thrown around for just about any vehicle where people don't change the oil often enough, they don't drain and refill the transmission fluid regularly, and or they let the oil get dangerously low.

These three things lead to the majority of internal damage of your engine and transmission. So remember the numbers you hear are an average that includes boneheads who don't maintain their vehicles properly.
