Default 07 Green Line 12V Battery Replacement

Hi all,

I have been having some issues with starting my 2007 Green Line Saturn Vue and often browse these forums as I seem to be plagued with car problems. It seems to run fine after being jumped, but the battery is not recharging after driving it about an hour and a half so I am hoping this is a simple fix with a new battery. I am taking it to an auto parts store later to get the battery tested to confirm, but had some questions. I am not an expert in car work but I think battery replacements are something that are generally more straightforward than in this model's case. I can see that there are fuses on top of the 12V battery (I think this is the ECM but am not positive)- I have been digging online for diagrams with limited success. Does anyone have experience with changing this battery and how difficult it might be with your standard set of household tools? I am hoping the store will be able to replace it for me but worry about them damaging the fuses or whatever they are if they are inexperienced (though I am sure I am more inexperienced after all!). This is the procedure I was able to find online: https://charm.li/Saturn%20Truck/2007...20Replacement/ . Sorry if this link is unsuccessful.. am I wrong for thinking this is a bit more complicated than most battery replacements?

It's pretty straightforward, any auto parts store you buy from will install for free. And if they mess it up, it's on them to fix it. Just watch them as they install.

Thanks! They installed and seemed to run fine afterwards! Fingers crossed it starts tomorrow morning otherwise I guess I will think its the alternator(?)! There was some weird stuff going on with the security system being triggered and door locks that I don't remember being an issue in previous times I have had a dead battery in this same car.

The auto parts store employee SHOULD have checked the charging system before installing your new battery. That way, the idiot would have known if your alternator is actually working. Take it back and tell them you'd like it if they'd check the charging system for you to make sure it's working properly.
