1-Rev limiters prevent blowing the engine when stopped and no speed is detected by theECM. When driving the limit is around the redline, 6500 rpm?

2-You may as well buy a Chiltons or Haynes manual if you're going to do your own maintenance as it will pay itself off in the long run.

3-Try http://saturnfans.comfor more help , there are plenty of good people, a wealth of information, and the library for How-to Tips.

sounds like you just forgot to connect one of the sensors to the gearbox after your clutch install. just because you can't readily see where it goes, doesn't mean you should just leave it and stop trying.

you're gonna have to get under the hood and find out where that connector goes. i just did a clutch job on my 96a couple months ago, so i know how tiring it can be. once you plug that connector back in, you should be fine...

p.s. ALL those problems have the same root cause. your speedo isn't connected to the gearbox, so it doesn't work. the pcm isn't getting a signal from the gearbox (because it's not connected) so it gives you a SES code. your engine won't rev past 4000rpm because your pcm thinks the car is in neutral and that's your neutral rev-limiter in action. see how much trouble ONE connector causes???
