I have a 99' with a blown motor. What years can i use with it? From what i understand all the blocks are the same and the heads just changed alot throughout the years? I have access to a 98 DOHC that has a black valve cover. The engine in the car now has a silver valve cover, wondering if it will work, dont know if there are any differences yet (havent torn into it), or maybe just use the short block from the 98'and swap the head, manifolds and sertpentine accessories from my 99' old blown motor. Any help appreciated, thanks

You can use a 1995+ SOHC motor. You can swap to a DOHC, several people have done it including myself. You'll need a DOHC motor, transmission from a DOHC equipped car, PCM, gauge cluster and a few other things.

ya from Z31.com and Z31performance.com lol thats pretty funny. Whats youruser name over there? Thanks for the info. Im just tryin to get the thing running and sold, i got the car for free with a blown motor, not interested in doing a DOHC swap. Do the SOHC models sell for quite a bit less? Thanks
