Transaxle codes 14, 16, 23

Hi everyone. I just replaced the valve body on my SL1. Seemed to go in fine and I took it for a test run. About 10 mins into the drive, I could only go into 1st and reverse. At the same time the check engine light came on. I got home and checked the codes: 14, 16, 23. Haynes says 16 and 23 are "no first and 3rd gear" respectively. Code 14 is low line pressure. I assume that means there's not enough trans fluid in the car. My question is are the 3 related? Would I have lost those gears as a result of the low transmission fluid or was my valve body bad?

I am sure you were properly careful about cleanliness and workmanship during the re-assembly of the transaxle, but that series of codes coming up that quickly would lead me to think there was something adrift in the trans fluid that has gummed up the works.
Of course, there's always a chance that the valve body is defective (a new unit from the dealer, right?), so I hope you kept your receipts.
Looks like another teardown is in your future -- sorry about that

It appears the transmission was losing fluid quickly because I assume the gasket didn't seal properly. When the car was running with a full load of transfluid its shifting fine. I'm going to reseal the valve cover gasket with RTV. That should seal the leak.
