92 SL2 with 180k is having a Transaxle Code 32 flash on the D2 light. Researched the code on www.differentracing.com with no avail to checking wiring and replacing sensors I thought could cause the problem. Has anyone here experienced this code and if so, how were you able to resolve it?

Thanks

32 Transaxle temperature circuit grounded (hot)

32 EGR system fault

Are you sure that its not an EGR valve related engine fault? If the fault is from using the D2 light then it suggests either the transmission temperature sensor is shorted or there's a wiring short to the temp sensor.

Yeah, it is coming up on the D2 light. I've already replaced wiring from the PCM to the sensor, and the sensor itself. So I really have no idea what to do next. I've already also replaced coolant sensor, coolant switch, coolant, and I've changed the transaxle fluid and pressure filter. So...help??

Reset when you were done? Checked that the PCM is groundedto its mounting points, no loose mounting hardware?

Turns out the new sensor I had bought from Napa Auto Parts was defective. I pulled it out just to be sure it had the right connector head, and the sensor had completely corroded away. So, replaced with the correct one, and now all is well. Its just that after 4 months battling the same problem, you lose hope and run out of ideas.

Also, for anyone stuck with this code, take the connector off of the sensor, andconnect it to a new one without installing it into the transmission. Hold it over the side of the vehicle, and start it. The SES light should remain off, but the Upshift/Shift To D2 light may come on. Install the new sensor and erase the codes by removing power to the PCM (remove the negative battery cable) and all should run smoothely.
