sw2 o2 sensor p0133 code still there

Hi-
I am trying to get rid of a p0133 code. The code comes and goes. It usually goes away when the weather cools down but not this time. I followed some advice and replaced the sensor but I was in a hurry and all the supplier had was a bosch unit. The code has not budged so I'm wondering if the new unit is no good. I can have the supplier order another brand. Also someone mentioned that the sensor ground wires may need cleaning.

1) I cant seem to find the sensor ground wires (behind the engine?)
2) Should I assume that the bosch replacement sensor may be bad.
3) If I get another sensor and clean the ground and still get a code, whats the next step?

Thanks!
Ken

No offense, but I sincerely hope you are working on the UPSTREAM sensor. And yes, normally Bosch is a good brand for automotive electrical parts, but for some reason, they don't work well here ...

Hi-
It is the upstream sensor, the one on the exhaust manifold. I found my receipt so tomorrow Ill head out and get an exchange.

Can someone point out where the ground wires for the sensor are located? I wanted to clean those up.
Thanks

Surprisingly, the "ground return" is picked up through the exhaust pipes and the body of the engine and the frame of the vehicle ...

That makes sense. I read a posting in regards to the P0133 error code that mentioned checking a ground wire. I guess the new sensor must be no good. Ill exchange today and see if that clears things up.

One question. How long does it take for the check engine light to go off after the problem has been solved. Is there a reset time or will it be immediately.
Thanks

Check elsewhere here in the Forum for 'driving cycle' ...

after learning about drive cycles, go with the denso replacement if need be

Solved it. I replaced the o2 sensor with a denso and cleared the codes and after 24 hours no check engine light. So far so good.
Thanks for the great advice!
