Sunroof Stuck Closed

Aside from some engine related issues that I am in the middle of fixing, I have a sunroof that is stuck in the closed position. This was a project I had intended on dealing with before it got cold outside, but it turned out to be more than a burnt out motor.

Is there a method or process by which I can gently force the sunroof window open and check for anything that might be broken or in need of lubrication? I searched through previous posts looking for an answer that may have already been posted, but I had no luck.

Or, should I just pull the fuse and forget that the sunroof even exists?

That is all up to how much time you have to invest in the problem. I would find the circuit wiring diagram, and find the last source of voltage. Start from the fuse box and work your way to the motor. You will find the problem that way. Also, I would do a resistance check on the wires between components. A simple multimeter will work fine for these checks.

If it doesn't leak while stuck closed, consider yourself blessed, throw away the fuse.

The money you had saved up for water damage restoration for when it died stuck wide open and you had to keep driving through an F1 tornado can now be put in the "Xtra Money For Crack' jar.
