slow start

Hello,
New to site. Has anyone had problems they were able to correct that had to do with a slow start. The car is a 2002, SL, with 179,000 mi. When I turn the key it drags then picks up and starts. I pulled the starter and it checked good. Battery checks good. There just seems to be something getting in the way of voltage to the starter. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Al

You might seriously think about replacing the large positive cable to the battery. I have seen several Saturns where battery acid has wicked up under the cable jacket, and started eating on the wire, almost like termites working on a 2x4 in your house ...

I agree with OA, but I'd carry it one step further and replace the ground cable too. And check all of your grounds. A loose or broken ground connector can cause the very problem you have.
