Need to change out the Coolant Temp Sensor and #1 Oxygen Sensor on son''s SL2 DOHC. Are there any illustrations of these sensor locations avail? Also, can the sensors be replaced without replacing connectors, or must the connectors also be replaced at same time? If connectors must be replaced, does this entail wire splicing of new connectors?

SEARCH the site ......... illustrations are posted.

Buy the parts from the DEALER and yes splice in a new connector. In other words, buy both the sensor and connector from your nearest SATURN dealer, and replace both the sensor and the connector.Edited by: sw2cam

Coolant Temperature sensor is on the drivers side of the head. Theres actually two. Replace the two wire one. The connector only needs to be replaced if the ECTS has leaked and corroded the connector.

The O2 sensor is located on the exhaust manifold. Just look down, cant miss it.

If he can''t see the 02 sensor I''m going to guess he''ll not see the small amount of corrosion it takes to make the connector inop.
