First of all, Im new on the forum. Anyways, I have a friend with a 1995 SL2 with a manual transmission. And it is having issues. I did a search and may have come up with a solution, butI would like to get specific with the problems. I havent looked at the car yet but here it goes. The radiator needs replacing it is cracked, but this being their only car they are still driving it and refilling it. But heres the kicker, it will stop blowing hot air just warm. But the temp gauge never gets hot. Im afraid that the head gasket is out. Im going to swap the radiator and put a new thermostat in and hope that solves it.....any input??? Well, I am all for repairing (read replacing) the radiator at their earliest convenience, and the idea to replace the thermostat has merit also.

I doubt that the head gasket is bad, unless you are finding bubbles (or oil) in the coolant, or water in the crankcase and failed to mention it.
