SL1 prone to head gasket failure ?

hello
i just bought a 97 SL1 sohc with what i thought might be a bad head gasket or craket head, cause there is pressurized oil being pushed in to coolant ports. so i tore it down and took the head off and the head gasket appears ok, the head check ok from what i can see. are the head on sohc prone to cracking?
