I'm thinking of upgrading some stock parts under the hood of my 1998 SaturnSL1. Any suggestions on where to start?

Not many out there, and the ones that are don't make much of a difference.

Unfortunately Keasbey is correct, there isn't much available. That doesn't mean you can't use universal performance parts tho. Air intake and exhaust are good starting points. Air intake setupsfor theSOHC are hard to find... if you buy a twin cam intake, the pipe can be cut to make it work. Not sure if there's a header available for the SL1.....

S-Turn Is correct as well. I drive a SOHC, and I have an AEM Short Ramintake for it. A nice little addition, and it makes the car sound better. Not much power though. No headers outthere. Exhausts are always nice. Saturnmotorsports.com has a really nice Thermal R&D exhaust that I would highly recommend. A great place to do work is suspension. Our cars are great in the twisties, once setup properly.
