Replacing Motor mounts?

I have a '93 SL1 with over 200,000 on it, a friend told me I need to replace one or more of my Motormounts cause of Dashboard rattling....How many do they have, and is this something I can do, or should I take it in the shop?

3 engine mounts, 1 tranny mount.

Upper (torque axis mount) is usually the culprit. Located top mid pass side near where the serpentine belt rides.

You can do this yourself with a floor jack and a piece of wood to distribute the weight.

Get an OEM one from the dealer. Treat yourself to some new mounting studs while you're at it. And don't overtorque -- they do break

Thanks Derf, by OEM I gather you mean NOT Napa or Autozone??? How much you reckon that might cost?

I think $80 is in the ballpark for the OEM part, and I also climb on the "OEM parts" bandwagon. A bit more, but tons less grief and hassle ...

I on the other hand have had very good experiences with aftermarket parts and rarely go to the dealer for anything unless I have good reason to go there. I buy parts from NAPA or CarQuest.
But like all recommendations there are exceptions.
The dealer will usually have GM parts, but I have known them to purchase locally too.
There are some parts that only a dealer might have. Motor mounts are in my opinion not one of them.
But they for sure will have them.

Do a search at gmpartsdirect.com first. I saved over 50% by purchasing thru them on the wiper switch on my Equinox. Dealer wanted $149 for it and I got it there for $66.

I went to that website, but didn't see any references to Saturn, just GMC! If you have a Parts# link I'd love to have it!

Indeed no saturn parts listed at gmpartsdirect.com

Saturnparts.net SEARCH yields

http://www.partswebsite.com/saturnpa...imagecallout=1

No clue if it is true OEM/SATURN/GM part. You'd have to ask them that.
