I wanted to replace my heater hoses but two are connected to the aluminum line with crimped compression fittings like on an air conditioning line. The parts store replacement hoses look correct but can I just cut off the aluminum compression fittings and clamp on the new hoses or do I need to go to the dealership and get the whole aluminum line and all? My old hoses are swollen.

If you want to do it right you need to get the complete system from the dealer. But, they can get pretty expensive. Another option is to cut the hose about 5-6 inches from the metal portion and use a connector and clamps. Watch out for leaks if you do this. |
Is there a problem with the hoses currently on the car? After 15 years and 21 S-Series Saturns, I''ve never had to replace those hoses. Radiator hoses are another story.

Mike, I am having difficulties removing the heater core. Isaw on another blog you offered removal instructions but I can''t find the other topic anymore. Would it be a problem emailing these instructions. I have a 1995 SL2 |
