1997 Saturn SL. I am replacing the clutch and wondering any shortcuts, or special tools, or anything I should know before starting. Thanks!

No shortcuts, but a reminder to check/inspect the pressure plate for damaged/bent fingers, broken springs on the pressure plate itself, and replace the throwout bearing ...

ok thanks. the new clutch disc assembly has everything (clutch disc, pressure plate assem, and throw out bearing). now i just have to figure out whether to just buy a new flywheel in case mine is warped beyond repair or scored to deep, or just inspect it after disassembly to see if it can be machined. i''d like to get it back on the road asap when i do the clutch

Just make sure the machining surface of your flywheel is done in a non-directional (uni-directional) pattern.

your best bet is to get that flywheel sent out and cut. and if they cant cut it; due to how bad it is, just get a new flywheel. never just leave the flywheel as is and hope for the best.</span>
