Hey everyone, I'm new to the group, but I recently got a 2001 Saturn SL and it's been running great with the exception of one thing. At random times the engine will rev up to 2 and 3 thousand rpms. I haven't been able to link any specific things with that, ie, heater, idling, highway travel, anything like that, it just seems to be happening fairly randomly. The car has had regular maintinence, I changed the air filter thinking maybe it was a lacking of air, if anyone has any ideas that'd be awsome. Also let me know theres anything anyone can think of that might help figure out what's going on.Edited by: sw2cam

Have you checked the vacuum lines? Maybe one of the hoses are clogged or not connected right. Not sure though, but hopefully you can find the problem.
