Default Quick pad replacement ...UNTIL

Replaced front pads on 1999 SL1. Quick job until I was compressing the caliper piston on the drivers side and the seal appeared to tear (small drip of fluid and I can certainly feel something wrong when I tested the brakes)

Do I just replace the entire caliper or can I replace the seal?

Anything special I should know or look for during this job?

you can rebuild the caliper but it is a delicate process and if you gouge the piston bore of the caliper, it'll be hosed anyway.

Might as well replace the entire caliper and be done with it
