Default Questions about door, pcm, and some other stuff for 95 SL2

I checked the parts interchangeability list and didn't see anything about trim and doors. I would like to swap out an entire door on my 95 SL2, but the junkyard near me only has the 93 SL2. Looks like it is the same but didn't want to assume.

Mine has the power Windows but I wouldn't mind swapping in a manual window door if the junkyard has that. Does that make any difference?

Also, I see the part about the PCM being year specific. Has anyone bought an aftermarket PCM and been happy with them?

I don't think I saw anything about dash clusters. I wanted to grab the 93's but is it also year specific?

I tried to understand the parts about the map sensor. Do I need to take off my map sensor to figure out what will fit? Because I'm worried about breaking it when removing it (stuff is getting so brittle lately.) any tips? (It's okay if not. I need to do some more online sleuthing for this anyway.)

SL doors should interchange 91-95 if memory serves. Putting a manual on instead of electric is no prob. The other way round a different story.

No chance the SC or SW front doors are interchangeable with the SLs, that you know of?

I think he was just referencing information about different PCMs for different years that is in the swap guide. He's not actually looking for one right now.

SW doors should fit but I don't remember what year they started making them. Probably 93.
The SC is a coupe equals two doors, each of which is much longer, so that's a no-go.

I am actually looking for the PCM although I've read it is highly unlikely to be needed.

My speedometer needle has been acting up for over a year and has gotten worse (odometer still working fine.) I've replaced the speed sensor twice, and the camshaft sensor. I plan on doing the dash cluster if I can find one that works at a salvage yard. While the PCM is probably not the issue, of I can find a 95 SL2 and a cheap salvage PCM then I'll still probably grab it just because parts are pretty rare now :/

If you have any other suggestions for wonky speedometer, please let me know (goes down to zero regularly. New symptom is my speedometer reads 12 mph under the actual speed. This new symptom only started up a week ago )

Speedo -12:: did you replace your tires with a different size or profile?

Is it shooting from reading a speed down to zero and back, slowly dropping to zero and staying there,??? There is no cam sensor so you must mean something else. Crankshaft position sensor?

Have you been replacing the VSS?

Yes. My bad, crankshaft position sensor up above the starter.

I have replaced the VSS.

The speedometer sometimes wobbles in place, say if I'm going 60mph according to it anyway, and then drops down to 0mph then it jumps right back up to 60mph.

And in the last week (or at least that's when I noticed I was going faster than other people and figured it out) my speedometer started reading 11 mph below my actual speed. So I am really going 70 but my speedometer says 59. Seems consistent across lower speeds as well.

Edit: also recently, probably around the same time, when I am accelerating from a stop my speedometer seems sluggish about slowly going up to 10pmh, 15mph,20mph. It'll get there but not like normal. It might not catch up with me until I'm doing around 20-25pmh.
I did have a tire replaced a couple months ago but I use discount tire and haven't had anything different out on.

My alignment is a bit off and I've been meaning to take it in-- pulls slightly right upon braking and uneven wear on both passenger side tires.

As a side question: do you know if the manual transmissions use a transmission temperature sensor (the engine Coolant temp sensor is the exact same part.) I watched a couple of videos and thought, huh, I've never changed that. Went looking for it (below the battery tray) and didn't find it. So either I don't have it, I do have it but it's somewhere else, or I'm blind.

I can't comment on the speedometer as I've never had that issue, but if your car is pulling slightly right when you hit the brakes, then it's a brake issue and not an alignment thing. Check your caliper guide pins. They probably need cleaning and lubrication. The caliper could also be sticking due to brake dust build up. Clean it with brake cleaner. Look at the rubber brake hose too. It may be starting to get a soft spot in it. If so, replace it.

Thank you. I'll check it out today. Really appreciate the tips.
