Update:

1 New alternator
1 Fired mechanic

Hopefully someone else may benefit from this thread and not get 'taken', especially in this day and age when such a repair could be devastating financially as it would of been for me.

If your transmission is wonking out like this, definitely check the power. It can cause your transmission to seem like it's failing while idling when the voltage drops the most.
