If I had to change the PCM , Does it need to be flashed by GM ?

Depends.
If you buy it new, yes. If you get it from a car at the junk yard, as long as it is the same year, and make sure it matches your tranny (auto/manual) you shouldn't have to. |

for the record, the PCMs on the S series are VERY VERY VERY VERY rarely the problem; for the volume of cars out there, the failure rate is miniscule.

Hey bud, I was wrong. After further info, s cars before 2000 don't have a bcm, so they are car specific.
