odometer repair advice

Hi all,

The odometer in my 1994 Saturn SL2 quit working in 2013. It stopped at 207,000.
I have been estimating the mileage in an Excel spreadsheet since then and I think its around 266,000 now.

I bought a replacement odometer gear back in 2014, from odometergears.com.
http://www.odometergears.com/product...eries+91-94/62
I am finally about to use the replacement gear.

As a plan to minimize downtime and have a spare, I bought an instrument cluster from a 1994 Saturn SL2 in a local junkyard and am thinking about putting the new gear into it's odometer (and replace the lights with LEDs) and then swap instrument clusters.
The junkyard instrument cluster shows 187,301 miles, and it would be nice to roll it up to the mileage of my Saturn, so the mileage reading will be as close to accurate reality as possible.
I plan to keep my Saturn and put on as many miles as I can...maybe up to 500,000?
Is it easy to roll the odometer numbers up? I've been looking for a how-to for Saturns but have not found one.

Help appreciated.

After I got the odometer assembly out, and replaced the broken red gear, I figured out a method of getting numbers to roll, without breaking anything. :)

The next step is to swap the instrument clusters!

What is it now read?

I rolled it up to what I believe is the actual mileage - 266,666.
