Default 2001 SL1 Start Problem

My daughter bought a 2001 SL1 in May. I don't know if it's because of the recent cold or not, but it seems that it's been harder to get started. When starting it cold you have to keep the gas pressed to keep it flowing. After a few seconds of doing that it runs fine. But if you don't do that then it either won't start or will start and die pretty quickly.

I replaced the air filter, spark plugs, wires and pcv valve. The spark plugs were a disaster. But unfortunately that made no difference with this issue. What else of little expense can I look to try? Thanks.

Engine Coolant Temp Sensor (ECTS) and pigtail connector. Source through GM dealer only or buy the AC Delco OEM parts online. When it fails, the PCM gets the wrong temp info about the engine and usually makes the air fuel mix too heavy on gas. Like over choking an older car.

About $50.

Aftermarket ects are not application specific.

Would this be it? https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...375017&jsn=332
Or this?
Amazon Amazon
Or both?
Or this - https://www.autozone.com/engine-mana...625840_71058_0

If none, I'll just call the dealer tomorrow. Thanks.

I don't know what that thing on Amazon is and the Dorman part on the A store's site is exactly the generic part we want to avoid. The AC Delco part on Rock Auto seems to be right. If you can't get it from the dealer then I would go with the Rock Auto part.

Out of those 3, definitely the rock auto one. At least it's brass tipped and THAT'S what you want. The resin tipped ones JUST DON'T work right.
