new to forums and i have a big problem
 
Hello everyone, im new to the forum and i have a huge issue. a family member has a 97 saturn 4dr sedan with a 1.9 auto. i guess the front seal is bad and he needs help replacing it. keep in mind that i am purely a VW guy and a Ford guy. i know that i have to drop the trans. but thats about it. anyone have a quick lowdown on this? im doing this Saturday and i really need help.

Are you replacing the front seal on the transmission?

Have you searched the Richpin videos for transmission removal?

are you talking about the rear seal on the engine? The crankshaft seal that is behind the flywheel? I just pulled the engine and tranny out of my 99 5spd. I just bought a Chilton book at O Reilly Auto parts, and it has more than enough instructions for pulling it. Most of the bolts on these cars are either 10, or 13mm wrenches. I changed the rear seal and it's like new.
