I am desperately looking for some advise on auto transmission. We only had the car 1 week when the trans went out , it shifted great then suddenly come unglued and broke the case. Any one know where to get a good used one? No luck finding one in my area, southeast MO. I 've heard they are prone to a pin coming loose somewhere on the input shaft, which is welded on the race cars?

Hi,
I'm north of cape girardeau and work with a guy who may have a tranny depending on your year. Let me know if I can help.

try http://www.advancedautoparts.com/

I know they have locations all over the place. I have bought an engine and several other parts from them for my SL2 and been very happy.

Doesnt have to be a race car to weld the diff pin in place.

Hey vairman65, it is a 1998 SL2 auto. How far north of Cape are you, I am an hour and 15 minutes south. Let me know he has the one I need and how much he'd take for it. Thanks.

I'll check with him tuesday. I'm pretty sure he had a 93 but interchange looks to be 95 up will fit. Too bad my 98 isn't an automatic....

Let me know next week when you talk to him, hopefully his is a least 1995. Thanks
