I buzzed my engine today to see where I am comfortable shifting. Sadly it was a little over 5000, the redline is 6500 on this engine. I used to really pound on my Metro with the big block 1.3 but it didn’t have a tach so I couldn’t tell how fast it was spinning. Back in the 70’s we used to under drive our water pump and alternator because we spun the engine over 8000 rpm. It was difficult to keep the belts on back then. LOL
