if my door is open when I remove my key the chime still sounds. as I
understand it, metal filings from the key have piled up in the switch and
won't let the sensor know that the key is out. I don't want to replace the
whole ignition switch ($$$). I tried removing the fuse, but it's the same fuse
for the radio, clock, etc. Any suggestions?

Yeah, replace the ignition cylinder. Its cheap and easy.

Is this a DIY project? Do I need to get it from a Saturn Dealer? Will it come
with instrauctions?

Thanks!

Yeah, get it from the dealer. It wont come with instructions, but I can post them here. What year Saturn?
