Default If my drum break adjuster isn't "clicking" is something wrong?

Had to hammer the old hub a ton to replace on sw-2 1995 , but when I went to put drum brake on i notice when adjusting it makes no clicks , the adjuster seems to not have much tension, does this mean the spring is bad ?

If I pull the adjuster back and let go it goes back into place sorta but not extremely fast. Seems to block adjuster better if I move it to bottom of the gear

Is this a cause for concern ?

Also how much friction should there be on shoes to the plate?

I'm not a mechanic, but what I would recommend is to purchase a new brake hardware kit and replace everything on BOTH sides. That includes the adjusters. Or, you could just take it all apart and clean it up with brake parts cleaner, but a little oil on the adjuster and put it all back together and hope for the best. Your call.

Look through this online manual for your car and see if the brakes are explained so you can understand.

I see in 2015 the supermoderator here had trouble finding one so 😀 might check junkyards

Junkyard is your best bet nowadays. Get several if you can. You just never know who else might need one.

Bring a can of blaster or better yet Kroil.....gonna need it.
I did find a bolt from one of the parts houses...they looked across their network and said it was literally the last one. The tiny head on it makes it almost impossible to replace and a bigger headed bolt with those threads doesn't have clearance.

You might try McMaster Carr. They carry so much stuff it's insane. Or maybe Fastenal.

I might even search again on your behalf. If i find one, are you willing to pay shipping+ whatever i paid for it.
Im not into turning a buck on people in need.

Especially people who are exactly where I was.

Oh, carparts.com may have a hyphen is a network of junkyard inventory. But im not sure if they go down inventory of fasteners.

I foundIsome at junkyard, I did see your thread about your troubles finding one

Fastenal sadly only had 15mm heads which will not fit 15mm socket into clearance hole , needed 10mm head

I grabbed 4 from junkyard , very happy !
