I want to tell you folks how thankful I am for this Saturn Forum. My 2002 SL1 has been idling rough, sputtering, etc., for quite some time. I checked here and found the posts about the intake gasket- I think I found the same thing posted elsewhere here on the Forum, but anyway, I decided I was going to have it changed. I had checked the usual suspects such as the plugs, wiring, etc., and had run a few cans of Sea Foam through it, but nothing I did made any difference. I took it in yesterday, got it back today, and I'm telling you I cannot believe the difference! I'm going to try to attach 2 mp3 files so you can hear the difference yourself. Thank you so much, everyone who asks questions so the issues can be approached in the first place, and thanks to everyone who helps solve the issues! You folks did the same thing with the front end vibration I had and the motor mounts. You folks are tops! Okay, now to try to get those files attached.

We have 2 Saturn's (1999 SC1, 2002 SL2) and both had the High idle issue. I went to local parts store and replaced the Idle Control module, not really expensive and easy to swap. Problem solved. I tried the cleaning before and it helped but problem never went away, once I swapped the part out, issues gone on both cars.

What is the torque spec on those nuts and studs? Yes, I have a torque wrench.
