I have a 97 Saturn SL. I replaced the valve gasket and was left with two grommets that were not used. Could someone please help me find where these grommets are located I think I found one but am not sure. Thank you in advance.

Jmayers -

Did you use an OEM gasket set, or an after-market product?

Describe your left over parts more fully, please ...

They go where the bolts go through the valve cover. Since you have a SOHC, you only have two. They usually get stuck to the cover, with the washer on top during removal.

Hopefully you got a preformed gasket and not those stupid kits that are the grommets and a tube of RTV.

The only thing they had was the kit which is exactly what Low Saturn stated, a tube silicone and two grommets. I used the silicone but could not find where the grommets go.

I''d remove all that RTV and install the correct gasket kit.

When you remove the bolts that hold down the cover, there will be two big washers and two grommets underneath.
